Similar to dirt, algae does not typically hurt your home. However, like dirt, it can be guilty of making your home look older and decrease curb appeal. It can also be a symptom of moisture in the roof system, so when you see this, it’s important to schedule a roofing inspection to make sure the algae isn’t harmful.
3. It is mold/mildew.

4. It’s a defective shingle.
